Why the numbers don’t subtract: Usually is his average in his latest full season. In situation is the plain average of the situation games across every season in the window. Shift compares situation games with his other games in the same season, then pools the seasons, so a role change, a trade or a different usual from season to season is taken out. That is why Shift is usually not In situation minus Usually. Few games (5–9) and tiny sample (under 5) mean the gap is easily luck, however big it looks.

How to read the screener

How to read it. Usually is his average in his latest full season. Shift compares his games in the situation with his other games in the same season, then pools the seasons, so a role change between seasons does not fake a shift. Avg in situation is the plain average of those games. The strength word says how much to read into it: strong (15+ games) and notable (10+ games) are unlikely to be luck; could be noise, few games (5–9) and tiny sample (under 5) are exactly that. Past games only, not predictions.
